One in six full-time workers in our state still falls short of covering basic needs, and the challenge is even greater for single parents and communities of color. That’s not the future we want for Iowa.
By raising the minimum wage, we can help families build stability, keep young people in Iowa, and create an economy that works for everyone—not just the wealthy few. A higher wage will reduce reliance on taxpayer-funded safety nets, strengthen local businesses by putting more money into people’s pockets, and give Iowans the dignity of making a living from their hard work.
It’s not just fair—it’s necessary.
